The purpose of the Arkansas Humanities Council* is to promote understanding, appreciation, and use of the humanities in Arkansas. To achieve its purpose, the council awards grants through a competitive application process to nonprofit groups and organizations so they can plan, conduct, and evaluate projects in the humanities for Arkansas citizens.

This publication reflects council grant guidelines in effect as of November 1, 1998. Any changes in these guidelines will be announced in the council newsletter, Reflections. If you do not already receive Reflections, we will be happy to add your name to our mailing list.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to consult with council program staff before preparing grant applications. The staff can provide information about changes that occur in the guidelines, answer any questions you have about the application process, and comment on application drafts.

Application forms can be viewed and printed from this site. Copies of the applications and these guidelines are also available from the Council offices.
