Columbus Didn't Discover Us

VHS, 24 min., 1992

A moving testimony of the impact of the Columbus legacy on the lives of indigenous peoples from across the hemisphere. Three hundred native peoples came to the highlands of Ecuador in July 1990 to participate in the First Continental Conference of Indigenous Peoples. Topics include contemporary struggles over land and human rights, the importance of reviving spiritual traditions, devastation of cultures resulting from the "European invasion," and the environment.
