An overview of the history and ways of life of peoples who have inhabited Arkansas since humans first set foot in our region of the country. Readers are acquainted with patterns of migration and settlement, elements of daily life such as acquisition and preparation of food, and the devastating impact of European explorations and settlement on indigenous populations.
